Dr. Jing Tao

Dentist, D.D.S.

Dr. Tao is dedicated to providing the best possible care to all of her patients. Her skills are especially appreciated by children (and their anxious parents), anyone who has ever felt nervous about going to the dentist, and patients whose previous experiences have kept them from seeking dental treatment. Dr. Tao's gentle touch, in-depth medical training, and keen observations allow her to treat potentially painful dental issues precisely, quickly and comfortably - and all without heavy sedation drugs. Plus, Dr. Tao sees more than a set of teeth - she sees the person sitting in her dental chair. Dr. Tao takes the time to listen to client concerns, explain procedures, and patiently review options. She is also fluent in Mandarin - a great plus for Kitchener-Waterloo's Chinese residents! Dr. Tao earned her DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) at the University of Western Ontario in 2000 and has been practicing dentistry for over ten years. She opened Tao's Dentistry in Kitchener in 2007 and has been improving the smiles of patients ever since.

Tobi

Receptionist

Hailing from Alberta, this graduate of NAIT has worked in the dental field for 18 years, focusing on dental reception for the past six years. With all that experience behind her along with her naturally friendly and warm personality, you can bet that Tobi will be able to handle any inquiry you may have. She enjoys greeting all of Dr. Tao's patients when they arrive for their appointments, is a pro when it comes to insurance claims, and an expert with the schedule - especially when it comes to fitting in emergency and urgent same-day appointments.

Jennifer

Registered Dental Hygienist

Jennifer, one of the practice's dental hygienists, has one of the gentlest touches around - and it's a reputation she's had since the beginning of her career. As a graduate of Regency Dental Hygiene Academy in 2004, she was honoured as a top clinician with the school's "Golden Scaler" award for her work as a hygienist. She knows what it's like to feel nervous at the dentist and strives to alleviate her patients' worries with her warm smile, taking special care as she cleans their teeth, and making sure everyone is comfortable.

Lumi

Registered Dental Hygienist

As a graduate of the Medix School in 2008 and a hygienist who has worked in periodontal and endodontic dental offices for several years, Lumi's experience and positive attitude is a welcome addition to Tao's Dentistry. She aims to make your dental experience calm and easy - an appointment where you barely notice she's cleaning your teeth until you see how improved they are after she's finished the job!

Nadya

Dental Assistant

Nadya, also a graduate of the Medix School, has been working in the dental field since 2007. She enjoys giving people a great "before and after" by enhancing smiles and deeply appreciates Dr. Tao's methods of patience and precision. With a degree in foreign languages, Nadya is able to fluently chat with patients in four different languages: English, Ukrainian, Russian and German - something some of Waterloo's original settlers would have appreciated!

Theresa

Dental Assistant

Theresa, a graduate of Kitchener's Medix School, is a results-oriented dental assistant. Being able to take part in the instant transformations some patients see thanks to Tao's Dentistry's restorative and cosmetic services is one of her great professional thrills. She enjoys helping patients feel better about themselves - whether it's relieving pain from a toothache or helping patients achieve a confidence-boosting smile - Theresa loves the instant gratification that good dentistry can bring to peoples' lives.
